Marty was born and raised in Austin. He produces work from his ‘art shed’ in his back yard. His work is expressive and is created with a desire to tap into his stream of conscious. Layers, colors, motion, and medium intermingle to create the pieces. There is very little plan going in – just faith that everything is going to turn out as it was intended.

"Early in 2009 I came to Dunten Gallery to assist Jared and Kim Dunten part time.  They kindly encouraged me to return to oil painting after my decade + of 'Childbearing Years'.  Reconnecting to my expression and doing what I absolutely love can fuel me for days! When I was only 7 years old, I started out in a private high school oil painting class, then later attained a BFA in Studio Art at UT in 1989.  Four children down the road, I have much inspiration to draw from!"  Rosita

"I aspire to create an amplified eye candy experience that rocks one’s mind and soul.

I believe it's all the years I lived in Angel Fire, NM that have influenced me the most.  It was there and my closeness with nature that inspires what I paint and photograph today.

With my acrylic paintings,  I like to create patterns out of chaotic lines while letting my subconscious be the guiding force.  With bold bright colors the images buzz with electricity.  With my photography I look for man made objects that look organic and have similar lines and structure that mimics nature. The outcome of my work is like lightning striking the canvas and electrifying the soul."  Doug

In 2009 Jared Dunten, with wife Kim and his parents, opened Dunten Gallery.  He was paralyzed in an accident in 2000.  "In 2002, encouraged by my parents, I began to paint using just my mouth. In 2004 I was awarded a student membership to the MFPA (Mouth and Foot Painting Artists) based in Lichtenstein. I am now studying oil painting with artist, Philip Wade.  I find peace, inspiration and encouragement in my paintings as I make my way through the arduous journey to recover from paralysis."

I will paint myself out of this wheelchair.
